United are in desperate trouble. Nothing seems to work at Old Trafford

THAT was the worst European final I have ever seen contested by two of the worst teams in the Premier League.
-
And Wednesday's game was decided by the worst goal to ever settle an important match.
It was a desperate night for football and all the drama has still to play out because there will be consequences for some.
First to Ange Postecoglou.
The Tottenham coach is a rare bird in football.
He is not afraid.
He speaks directly and for months has been aware of the rumours that his job was on the line.
But one of Ange’s great claims is that he always wins a trophy in his second season at a club.
And he kept that promise in Bilbao.
But the more serious kick will be felt by Manchester United because the winners of this final were guaranteed to pocket €118m.
That's a lot of money, enough to change things dramatically for any club.
Perhaps Daniel Levy will put his €118m in the bank.
Or perhaps he will retain Postecoglou and give him some dough to go and buy a couple of players.
Ruben Amorim's situation is truly interesting.
He offered to leave the club without taking a pay-off to do so.
Those words, however, were uttered in the heat of the moment.
So we have to wait and see what happens.
One thing that is certain is that Jim Ratcliffe, the man who took over United's football business, won't be happy about losing €118m.
