Aaron strikes late for leaders to down former club

AARON MCENEFF used to be a fan favourite around these parts - but not any more.

Not after slotting away a precious 89th minute winner for Shamrock Rovers against his former club, before milking the celebrations in front of the irate home fans.

The Derry man was only on the pitch 12 minutes when he made his purposeful dart into the box to steer home Danny Grant's squared ball at the near post.

He immediately turned and raced to the corner flag, dodging the multitude of missiles thrown by supporters behind the goal who used to sing his name.

And like Forrest Gump, he just kept going, haring down the sideline, brewing up a storm in the process before getting booked for his efforts.
