Luke plunders victory at death for Saints

LUKE TURNER got a last gasp goal for St Pat's as they ended six hours without scoring to sneak a win at the death against Drogheda.

Luke Dennison got a hand to Turner's nodded effort but he wasn't able to stop it sneaking past him.

With it, St Pat's stretched their unbeaten domestic run to seven games and all of a sudden a runners-up spot, coupled with a run to the FAI Cup final, could be on the cards. Few would have predicted that a month ago. St Pat's dug in Mason Melia forcing a corner out of nothing; he then made a further nuisance of himself from that corner and Turner turned up with the winning goal.

For Drogheda, there will be frustration. They defended valiantly in the first half and found a way into the game as it progressed.
