Galway woman believed to be the world's longest-serving publican dies aged 98

A WOMAN believed to be the world's longest-serving publican has sadly passed away at the age of 98.

Patricia Egan, known as "Baby" by locals, was pulling pints for more than 70 years in Egan's pub and shop in Derrybrien, Loughrea, Co Galway.

She took over the pub and shop with her late husband Joe in 1948.

She sadly passed away on Wednesday surrounded by her loving family.
