CONGRATULATIONS are in order for our writer Mark McCadden who was in Barbados this week accepting an award from Connect Barbados for an article he wrote on the destination in December 2024.

Mark, the Irish Daily Star's Chief Soccer Writer, visited the island last year as a guest of the Barbados Tourism Authority for the 41st annual Run Barbados marathon weekend, which took place from December 6-8, and stayed at the 5-star all-inclusive Wyndham Grand Sam Lord's Castle Hotel.
Mark completed a 5k before sampling some other famed delights, including a few well-earned rums, of course!
