Soul icon D'Angelo dies at 51

D'ANGELO, the Grammy-winning R&B singer who garnered mainstream attention with the shirtless Untitled (How Does It Feel) video, has died.

The singer, 51,whose real name was Michael Eugene Archer, died yesterday after being diagnosed with cancer, his family said.

They called him a "shining star of our family and has dimmed his light for us in this life", adding they are "eternally grateful for the legacy of extraordinarily moving music he leaves behind".
