BIG-HEARTED rescuers went to extraordinary lengths to save the life of a crow hooked 70 feet in the air on a fishing line for 36 hours.

The young hooded crow, affectionately nicknamed "Crowley", is enduring the terrifying ordeal dangling up to 70 feet in the air during a sweltering summer heatwave.

The brave bird was left helpless, hanging from a dead tree in a wasteland behind the Commodore Hotel in Cobh. A discarded fishing hook had become embedded right through his foot, tethering him to the high branches by a tangled fishing line.
