Howe challenges winger Barnes to make starting place his own

HARVEY BARNES returns to Leicester tonight with his Newcastle career at a crossroads.

And Toon chief Eddie Howe has told the 27-year-old even if he produces a man-of-the-match display against his relegation-haunted former club, it will be his daily output on the training ground that shapes his future.

Barnes is set to keep his place on the left flank despite Anthony Gordon being available again following his three-match ban.

He has made the most of Gordon's absence and is now in arguably his best form since joining the Magpies in a near £40million deal four years ago.
