MOLLOY: ATHLONE READY TO DEFY ODDS AND MAKE HISTORY IN NETHERLANDS

ROISIN Molloy insists Athlone Town have no intention to travel to the Netherlands merely to 'make up the numbers' in the Champions League qualifiers.

The Athlone Town star is pinning her hopes on securing the biggest result ever in Irish women's club football when the Westmeath club take on Icelandic side, Breidablik, tomorrow.

Victory will set up a date against either Netherlands side FC Twente or Serbian hotshots Crvena Zvezda on Saturday.

And if they are still standing after those two games then they have a two-leg playoff in September to gain a place in the group stages of the women's Champions League - something no Irish side has ever managed before.
