MEATH SHOWDOWN WHOLE NEW BAWL GAME FOR SAM

The Louth captain was just 12 years of age then, sitting there with his father and grandfather.

Joe Sheridan had just jumped over the goal line with the ball in hand as he attempted to 'score' a late winning goal for Meath against Louth an spark a major controversy.

Tomorrow, 15 years later, Mulroy and Louth will get the opportunity to consign that afternoon to history.

"I remember the end and I probably bawled my eyes out in the stands - probably like every young Louth fan at the time. It was devastating."

Mulroy quickly dismisses any notion that Louth deserve a first Leinster title in 68 years to make up for 2010 and to mark all their recent progress.

"You deserve nothing in life," he says. "So, it's one of those where both teams will be thinking that they've got to go and take this - and they have as much right to win it as we do."
