Lyng rules out Phelan for summer

KILKENNY boss Derek Lyng has confirmed that Tom Phelan will play no part in this year's Championship.
Phelan has had ongoing issues with his knee which has curtailed his involvement with Kilkenny in recent seasons.
It was hoped that he may be able to play some part in this year's Championship, but Lyng has said that that will not now happen as he requires surgery.
Kilkenny open their Leinster Championship campaign at home to Galway on April 19, by which time he hopes to be able to call on key forward Adrian Mullen, who missed the entire League campaign through injury.
