BOB Geldof has attacked the Israeli military and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for "lying" about who is responsible for the famine that is killing babies and children in Gaza.

'LIES, LIES LIES..

Israeli authorities have blamed Hamas for "engineering" the drastic food shortages and humanitarian catastrophe.

But Irish music star Geldof, 73, rubbished the claims, telling Trevor Phillips on Sky News: "They're lying. Netanyahu lies, the IDF are lying.

"They're dangling food in front of starving, panicked, exhausted mothers."

He said the absolute priority at present was stopping starving mothers and infants being used as instruments of war.

On the Israel-Hamas conflict, he said: "I'm really not interested in what either of these sides are saying. When you target infants and children, when their wounds are no longer capable of healing, when breastfeeding mothers can no longer do this, then everything goes out the window."

When asked if it was "unfair" to criticise the Israeli population, he said: "What's unfair is what is happening to these babies. What's unfair is that one hour from the hunger, people are sitting down to their un-threatened dinners to turn on Netflix.

TRUCE

"So if Israelis want to protest, stuff your cars full of food and drive through that border and let your own army stop you."

UAE and Jordanian planes dropped 25 tonnes of aid into Gaza yesterday.

And aid trucks headed towards Gaza after Israel began a "tactical pause" in fighting amid an outcry over the humanitarian crisis.
