Boy, 12, hit by Liverpool parade rampage driver tells of his horror | 78 victims open up to court ahead of sentencing.
A CHILD victim of Paul Doyle's rampage during Liverpool's Premier League victory parade has spoken of "the worst day of my life".
Liverpool Crown Court was told the 54-year-old flew into a "rage" and ploughed through more than 100 people in the space of two minutes on May 26.
A total of 78 people submitted victim personal statements to the court ahead of Doyle's sentencing today.
Doyle sobbed as the words of one of his victims, a 12-year-old boy, were read out by prosecutor Philip Astbury.
The child, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said: "It started off as the best day ever, I was so excited to see my heroes go past on the open top bus, and the party atmosphere was amazing, but soon the day changed to the worst day of my life.
"I found myself on the floor having been hit by a car I did not see coming, I have never felt so scared before in my life. I was split up from my mum, I felt lost, confused, didn't know what was happening to me or why."
The boy's mother said in her statement her heart sank when she saw her child motionless on the floor.
