Trump's toddler-like tantrums are threatening to derail World Cup

WHEN Gianni Infantino awarded Donald Trump the FIFA Peace Prize at the World Cup draw in December, perhaps the US president took the trophy a little too literally.

There is a hint of zombie apocalypse about the trophy - boney severed hands reaching up from the grave and grabbing at a golden version of planet earth.

But with Trump's recent land grab attempt of Greenland, it's a symbolic addition to a trophy cabinet that now includes María Corina Machado Nobel Peace Prize medal.

Happily, Trump has backed down for now on his threat to take the giant Arctic island by force.

But his history of saying one thing one day and issuing a completely contradictory statement on Truth Social the next means European leaders cannot drop their guard.
