PETER O'MAHONY'S “weird” farewell tour travels to Thomond Park on Friday night with Munster's proud Champions Cup history on the line.

O'Mahony's playing days will end when Munster's season is over. If the Reds fail to beat Ulster tomorrow then a place in the URC play-offs - and thus the Champions Cup next year - could be out of reach before their final regular season fixture against Benetton on Friday week.

"I'm not going to say I haven't thought about it but the position that we've ourselves in, performance is paramount," said O'Mahony.

"It's going to be an emotional evening. I've had some great memories there, it's a very special place to me.
