Fat Andy widow vows she'll go to jail over illegal mobile homes

THE widow of slain gangster "Fat" Andy Connors has told this paper she's willing to go to jail over her illegal mobile homes.

Speaking exclusively to us after a judge threatened to jail her over the properties on her land in Saggart this week, Ann Connors says she will be left with "no income" as she charges rent for some of the homes.

She also insisted her late husband - who was shot and killed in 2014 - "wasn't a gangster" and defended burying him in a gold-covered coffin.

"You can go in and get my husband's record. My husband was no criminal, he was no gangster. He was a gentleman," she claimed.

"Look, everybody has to be buried and it's up to everybody how they bury their family."

Asked if she had money, she said: "I've nothing for myself. I haven't got a pound."

On Monday, a judge gave Connors a week to comply with court orders to demolish multiple properties built on her extensive land with no planning permission or face being jailed - after she had to be arrested and brought before him.

Speaking today, the widow claimed she wants to now take the matter to the Supreme Court - and is ready to be jailed over her continued ignorance of the law.
