ROWE ON OVERSHADOWING COLDPLAY AND RASHFORD
CARLA Rowe says she knew her wondergoal against Galway was something special when it eclipsed Marcus Rashford and Coldplay on social media.
The Dublin captain was trending on the X platform the day after netting in the TG4 All-Ireland semifinal with the cheekiest of back flicks.
It was a move borrowed from soccer and the goal ultimately separated the teams as Dublin beat Galway 3-14 to 2-14 after extra-time in Tullamore.
Five-time All-Ireland medallist Rowe was nicknamed Rowe-naldo by one social media user and said she only realised the full impact of the goal the following day.
Rowe smiled: "One of the girls sent me a screenshot of Twitter and I was trending number one in Ireland ahead of Rashford and Coldplay!
"That kind of put a limelight on it. So obviously yeah, there was a bit about it afterwards. But these things don't happen too often in sport and I always think you have to just take them in and enjoy them."
