Singer says she couldn't Carey less about being seen as a prima donna

She calls it “tongue in cheek”, but that, right there, is possibly the very definition of a “diva”, a persona that Mariah has gleefully adopted throughout her stellar pop career.

Now 56, she is preparing to play Brighton Pride at the weekend, when she will be laying that diva look on with a shovel.

She says: "It's part of my job. What's the point of a disguise? Just get up, get dressed, go out.

“If I don’t want to be seen, I'll stay home.”
