And in his first season with Wimbledon he scored 18 times in 35 First Division (now Championship) appearances.

But when it comes to Irish strikers, they finally got their man in the summer of 2024 when Parrott's 17 goals in 32 appearances for Excelsior earned him a move from Premier League side Tottenham.

Despite his past difficulties with AZ, Connolly has enjoyed every minute of Parrott’s time so far in the Netherlands.

“That was a different time, with a different owner there and things like that,” he said.
