ONE of the first football matches I recall attending as a kid at the old Lansdowne Road in 1988 was a testimonial game between the Boys In Green and some international select XI.

The ould memory of it is a bit hazy now but I do recall that lan Rush, one of my Liverpool heroes who was playing for Juventus at the time, scored one of the goals in a win for the international X
