Coolock site won't host asylum seekers
Irish Daily Star
|May 17, 2025
THE Crown Paints factory site is no longer being considered for asylum seeker accommodation.
-
The disused premises in Coolock, north Dublin, was the site of a series of protests against International Protection applicants moving into the area.
In July last year, violent scenes broke out at the factory, with petrol bombs, fireworks, and bricks thrown, prompting a major response from emergency services.
The site was set on fire several times during protests.
