Former Toon star Les says long-term deals are worthless if Isak can say, 'I'm not playing' and then get a move
NEWCASTLE legend Les Ferdinand says Alexander Isak has plunged the future of Premier League transfers into complete chaos after downing tools at St James’ Park this summer.
The former England star was irked by Isak’s attitude as he forced a £125million move to Liverpool by refusing to play or train in preseason.
Ferdinand (circled) reckons Toon replacement Yoane Wissa was influenced by Isak’s very public strike and employed similar tactics to force a £50million move from Brentford to Tyneside.
Ferdinand said: “Now everybody is talking about what's next in future windows. Alex has set a precedent.
“Tm not just having a go at Alexander Isak, Yoane Wissa is included in that as well. People are going to look at contracts now and say: ‘What are they actually worth if a player can down tools?’
