Collapse of Rome tower traps worker

FIREFIGHTERS battled for hours to rescue a worker trapped under the rubble of the medieval Torre dei Conti tower in Rome after part of it collapsed during renovation.

The rescue was complicated as the tower continued to crumble, forcing crews to retreat several times and use drones and cranes to remove debris safely.
