Chambers'knew target out of reach'

MINISTER Jack Chambers was told the day before the general election was called that the Government's target of building 40,000 homes would unlikely be met, an internal document shows.

Sinn Fein has accused the Fine Gael Public Expenditure Minister of burying the document.

During the 2024 election, Micheal Martin and Simon Harris said housing targets would be close to 40,000.

However, the final figure came in at just over 30,000.
