Call to pause Strictly after rows to save its reputation

STRICTLY Come Dancing should be scrapped for a year to save its reputation, says an executive who helped to launch the show.

Sam Hodges, ex-BBC TV Head of Communications, said shelving the show in a Glastonbury-style fallow year would let new energy return.

“The series has been tough on a host of fronts,” he said on Linkedin.

“Reputationally its biggest boost might come from helping people realise what they'd miss.”
