O Se siblings the latest from one family to manage at county level

- BY PAT NOLAN

THE appointment of Marc 0 Sé as Kerry minor manager this week brought about a very unique set of circumstances.

With his brother, Tomas, retained as the county's under-20 manager for a further two years, it means that two of the county's managerial positions are being held by men that came out of the same house. Indeed, their elder brother, Darragh, also had a stint as Kerry under-21 manager some years back.

Although Jack O'Connor has taken on a two-year extension as Kerry senior boss, there should be plenty of viable alternatives when he eventually finishes up, with the O Sés making progress on their coaching journey, while Kieran Donaghy has left an impressive body of work behind him in Armagh.

Although Tomas has played down the possibility of managing at senior level, it can't be ruled out. Perhaps he and Marc may both get a shot at the job, even working together. They wouldn't be the first pair of brothers to manage at senior inter-county level.

Billy and Jimmy Lee

Jimmy Lee is, to an extent, mirroring the job that his brother Billy carried out as Limerick senior football manager.

Billy took the side from Division Four to Division Two within a three-season spell which also saw them reach a Munster final in 2022, but he stepped down after that season and before they took their place in Division Two.
