Sophisticated scam uses Revolut

CROOKS have targeted victims by falsely warning their savings were under threat and duped them into transferring cash into bogus accounts.

It is the latest sophisticated scam used by cruel thieves to swindle large amounts from ordinary people.

Companies like Revolut have also been used by the criminals, Bank of Ireland warned yesterday.

A bank spokesperson said: "Fraudsters are targeting customers with convincing fake texts and phone calls, tricking them into transferring their money to bogus 'safe accounts', in many cases via Revolut.
