Ukraine leader hopes US talks could forge a path to peace

VOLODYMYR Zelensky hopes White House talks with Donald Trump could lead to a breakthrough to end the Ukraine war.
Heaping praise on Ukraine's leader yesterday, the US president said it was an honour to be with a “strong leader, a man who has been through a lot”.
But despite the warmth, Trump signalled that he’s not ready to sell Kyiv long-range Tomahawk missiles, which the Ukrainians say they desperately need.
Asked by a reporter what the differ ence was between talks with Trump and predecessor Joe Biden, Zelensky said: “President Trump has a big chance now to finish this war. “
