Man, 31, also bit former partner on her face and buttocks in jealous rages >> Loaded machine gun, cocaine and cash found at home

A MAN burgled and attacked his ex-girlfriend, biting her face and buttocks, threw her grandmother's ashes into a fire and kept a loaded machine gun, a court has heard.
Willie Woodland, 31, committed the offences while he was wanted for breaching the terms of a suspended sentence for a 2018 firearms conviction.
When gardai raided his home on September 3, 2024, they found a loaded machine gun, 18 bullets, €6,000 worth of cocaine and cannabis and €1,000.
Gardai said the weapon's serial number had been erased, it was in “good condition” and it was loaded with 15 rounds.
In interviews, Woodland identified himself in a video on Snapchat posing with the gun and pulling the trigger when its magazine was empty.
Woodland, of Shanabooly Road, Ballynanty, Limerick, accepted responsibility for the gun and drugs but would not disclose who he bought it from.
Limerick Circuit Court heard he told gardai he did not intend to harm anyone and was given €1,000 to hold it for an unidentified party.
