Kieran vow to fans after Tripp down memory pain
KIERAN TRIPPIER is convinced that Newcastle's results will pick up soon and referenced his ill-fated debut as an example of how the club can recover from rock bottom.
The veteran was the first over to the fans after the defeat by Brentford and dragged his teammates over to show some appreciation.
However, despite some stinging criticism in the aftermath, Trippier has pointed to the fact they have come a long way in a short space of time.
When Trippier signed he suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Cambridge in the FA Cup on his debut, but bounced back to help the club lift a trophy and reach the Champions League.
Trippier, 35, said: "Just look back at the first game against Cambridge (in 2022). We understand the supporters' frustration at the moment.
