Writing on the wall for boss Hunt as Reading slip into Telegation places

THE LAST NOEL?

NOEL HUNT'S job remains in jeopardy after Reading slipped into the relegation zone.

Failure to win a game that was stopped following an allegation of discriminatory abuse from a Royals fan has intensified the pressure on the Irishman.

Owner Rob Couhig stuck with ex-Reading striker Hunt when he took over the Berkshire club in May.

Former Wycombe chief Couhig, whose arrival ended a stormy spell of financial uncertainty under Dai Yongge, also gave Hunt a vote of confidence earlier this month.

The American told a gathering of fans that sacking a manager does not instantly make a player a "better striker or a better defender".
