WHAT were the Freemasons apologising for? Who wanted them to say sorry?

Sorry but apologising for free speech is silly

I don't know anyone going: Thank god those Freemasons apologised for hosting that Tucker Carlson interview with Conor McGregor, I can rest easy now.

Nobody cared. It's fine. We live in a free country where democracy means those with unpopular views are not shut down on the grounds of being distasteful.

The definition of liberal is the willingness to accept or respect behaviours and views different to your own.

Being pro free speech - even for those you profoundly disagree with - used to be a left-wing position.

Ireland is not some censored state persecuting those who don't toe the party line, as McGregor sees it. Although judging by the reaction from the Freemasons, you'd be forgiven for thinking it might be.

Why seek forgiveness for hosting McGregor in their Grand Lodge? The views of the venue should have nothing to do with who is allowed to hire it. They're supposedly an apolitical organisation.

Expect a rule of Laur

NEWSBOY'S ITV SELECTIONS POET LAUREATE gets the vote to make the most of the weight he receives from rivals in the Fitzdares Sovereign Handicap Hurdle (3.35) at Windsor. The form of his two-and-three-quarter-length defeat of Phoenix Risen at Wincanton nine days before Christmas needs improving on, but the Chris Gordon trainee has plenty more to come. Nemean Lion defends his title in the Weatherbys Cheltenham Festival Betting Guide Hurdle (3.00), but preference is for ALTOBELLI, for whom conditions are tailor made. LARGY FORCE is also at her best when the mud is flying, and a 2lb rise for a score at Uttoxeter may not be enough to prevent the follow-up in the Fitzdares Mares' Handicap Chase (2.25). He'll go off at cramped odds for the Grade 2 Fitzdares Your Personal Bookmaker Lightning Novices' Chase (1.50) but BE AWARE should make no mistake.
