Weather to heat up next week after wet spell

LONG overdue settled weather will arrive in Ireland next week with higher temperatures to boot - but only after a wet few days ahead.

The west of the country is set to be hit hardest by widespread heavy rain today, with weather expert Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather suggesting that up to 30mm will fall in the worst affected areas.
