Hoops boss Rodgers says reports of his demise at Celts are greatly exaggerated

- BY RYAN MCDONALD

MISTER MOTIVATED

BRENDAN RODGERS has been in Glasgow long enough across his two stints in the city to pick up plenty of the lingo.

So he didn't need to be handed an urban dictionary for any translation for a good-old fashioned description of how he might be feeling right now. "Scunnered".

There was a smile and a nod, as he knew exactly what it meant and why it might be the case.

The fall out from the summer transfer window shambles is being well and truly felt now, there's the power struggles behind the scenes, the fans at war with the board and now some of the punters questioning his ability and appetite for the gig.

The Antrim man could be entitled to feel a bit scunnered by it all - but he's adamant it couldn't be further from the truth.

Rodgers is gearing up for the kind of fortnight that could shape the season. Sturm Graz in the Europa League tonight/tomorrow, Hearts in the league in Gorgie on Sunday, the Premier Sports Cup Old Firm showdown seven days later.
