Appeal for justice over Tadgh's death in firebomb attack
THE devastated mother of little Tadgh Farrell has issued a heartbreaking appeal for justice, saying she will forever ask 'Why?' - weeks after her son was brutally killed in a petrol bomb attack at a house.
Four-year-old Tadgh and his grandaunt Mary Holt, 60, were killed when two hooded thugs smashed the window of a downstairs room of the house in Castleview Park estate in Edenderry, Co Offaly, and threw the firebomb inside on Saturday, December 6.
Innocent Tadgh, who did not live at the property, was being babysat by Mary and his grandmother, Pauline Holt, who remains in hospital with serious burn injuries.
Little Tadgh and Mary were left trapped in a downstairs room of the house and passed away as a result of the horrific fire that quickly spread after 7.30pm on the Saturday.
