TV host grateful for support over Charlie Kirk comments

US chat show king Jimmy Kimmel has thanked Late Late Show host Patrick Kielty for his support after ABC reinstated his show.

The late-night show host referenced the Irishman during his opening monologue as his ABC show returned following a five-day suspension.

Kimmel's late-night show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, was back on air on Tuesday after the comedian had been suspended indefinitely by the television network in the wake of criticism over his comments about the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

In his opening monologue, Kimmel referenced those who reached out to him after his show was taken off air, including "late-night hosts in Ireland".
