Killer jailed for trying to drown his partner

A CONVICTED double killer has been jailed for six years for a serious assault on a woman during which he tried to drown her.
-
Anthony Locke, 48, previously served seven years for the manslaughter of Gerard Kavanagh, 30, and his girlfriend Mary Core, 29, in Ballyfermot in 1995.
The couple died of smoke inhalation after Locke set their flat on fire.
Ms Core was 36 weeks pregnant and was delivered of a stillborn child by caesarean section.
