Wire actor knighted for anti-knife campaign
ACTOR Idris Elba has been knighted in the UK's New Year Honours List after leading a campaign to end youth violence.
The Wire and Luther star is among a host of famous faces to get gongs.
Idris, 53, launched the Don't Stop Your Future campaign last year, standing next to 247 piles of folded clothes each one representing a life lost to knife violence in 2023.
