Hoax calls are blasted after man is saved

COAST guard members have warned that hoax calls waste valuable emergency resources after a massive response was stood down yesterday.

The emergency response stood down hours before a callout in which a man was rescued from the water.

Shortly after 7pm on Monday, members of the Crosshaven Coast Guard and RNLI were called to an incident at the Royal Cork Yacht Club, Co Cork, where an elderly man had fallen into the water.
