FERGUSON IS GETTING EVAN BETTER IN ROME

FURTHER evidence of a huge shift in opinion on Evan Ferguson has emerged.

The Ireland striker was all but written off as a Roma prospect a couple of weeks ago, with injuries and a lack of goals leading to some negative comments from media, fans and even his own manager.

Local reports suggested that Ferguson's loan move from Brighton - which includes an option to buy next summer - would be cut short in January.

However, a brace against Celtic and a starring performance last weekend against Como have contributed to a dramatic swing.

His club boss Gian Piero Gasperini has been effusive in his praise for the Boys in Green star, while Roma director of football has all but ruled out an early return to Brighton.
