WITHOUT A TRACE Sandra Collins vanished in Co Mayo in 2000

- BY NICOLA DONNELLY

THE family of a missing woman say their greatest hope for 2026 is she is finally returned to them.

Sandra Collins was 28 years old when she vanished from Killala, Co Mayo on December 4, 2000.

She had lived in the village with her aunt Ann O'Grady, whom she helped care for. The only trace ever found of Sandra was her fleece which was discovered on a pier with the sausages she had bought for her aunt still inside.

Sandra’s brother Patrick said the New Year is often a time for reflection when people look back on what they may know, what they may have seen, or what they may have stayed silent about.

The family believe someone still holds a vital piece of information that could help bring Sandra home.

Patrick urged people to choose compassion, truth and courage as 2026 begins.
