Donley fires North to victory

NORTHERN IRELAND will go into the World Cup playoffs in March on the back of a victory after a callow side saw off Luxembourg at Windsor Park last night.

A Jamie Donley penalty secured the three points in the dead rubber, but it gave a timely boost to the home side.

Jamie said: "The mood is high. Winning and getting a clean sheet is positive.

“We spoke about before the game that this is a good stepping stone for March and that is what we did. It is a positive feeling.”
