Jo Brand says that working as a nurse helped her deal with hecklers during her comedy career.

The stand-up, who spent a decade as a hospital psychiatric nurse, revealed getting “attacked a few times” while on the job and said that once a patient even came at her with a machete.

But Jo admitted: “Nothing in comedy was ever as bad.”
