The Dubliner, who won his second Open 17 years ago, teed off first this morning at 6.35am to start the 153rd Open and wants to also be the last man standing on Sunday night at Royal Portrush.

"Look, my goal is to hit the first shot and the last shot this week," he said. "So that, in my head, that's what I'm trying to do.
