Magnificent Magpies flying high as they go third after Eze spot shocker

- BY IAN MURTAGH

BOOM TOON

NEWCASTLE are on course for their best campaign in decades after racing to a sixth successive win in goalbusting style.

The magical Magpies were four up at half-time through Jacob Murphy, Harvey Barnes (celebrating, below), Fabian Schar and a Marc Guehi own goal before Alexander Isak got in on the act.

These are heady days for the Toon Army, who haven't stopped celebrating since the Magpies won the Carabao Cup.

And to think for the past nine days Newcastle have had to do it all without master-mind Eddie Howe, still recuperating from pneumonia.

No Howe but oodles of know-how and attacking flair which proved too much for a Crystal Palace side who a week ago were defending a long unbeaten away record.
