But don't put your house on him rejoining the England fold tomorrow when Thomas Tuchel shows his first hand as Three Lions coach.

White made himself unavailable for international selection in the closing overs of Gareth Southgate's reign after flying home early from the 2022 World Cup in mysterious circumstances.

White is understood to have had a call from Tuchel but it is by no means certain that the torch passing from Southgate to Scouting Thomas will result in an immediate recall.
