Manilow to have surgery after a scan found spot

COPACABANA singer Barry Manilow has revealed he is battling lung cancer and will have surgery.

The star - famous for chart-topping songs such as Looks Like We Made It and Mandy - told fans he had received a diagnosis and his upcoming concerts will be postponed.

The 82-year-old music icon made the announcement in a statement posted online early yesterday.

Barry - a longtime smoker who switched to vaping - said a spot was discovered during a scan after weeks spent suffering bronchitis.

He wrote: “As many of you know I recently went through six weeks of bronchitis followed by a relapse of another five weeks.

“Even though I was over the bronchitis and back on stage at the Westgate Las Vegas, my wonderful doctor ordered an MRI just to make sure that everything was OK.
