World Club Challenge takes shape for 2026

NRL CEO Andrew Abdo has confirmed the World Club Challenge will return to the rugby league calendar next season.
However, the host country and venue are still to be determined and will be dependent on who wins the Super League Grand Final between Hull KR and Wigan Warriors on Saturday.
Of course, Wigan are the current holders of the World Club Challenge trophy, having defeated Penrith Panthers 16-12 in 2024.
But the fixture, with both of those sides playing in Las Vegas, was put on hold in 2025 for logistical reasons, denying a rematch.
