SUPER League's Magic Weekend is facing the axe as part of plans to expand the competition to 14 teams.

All Out Rugby League can reveal that the event, which has proven popular with supporters over the years, is likely to be shelved next season, and potentially for longer than that, as part of plans to increase the playoff format from six to eight teams.
There are several reasons behind the proposal to remove Magic Weekend from the calendar.
