Will promotion and relegation return?

TALKS are underway regarding a return of promotion and relegation. Super League clubs met last Wednesday to discuss several matters, with the mechanics of determining who plays in the top flight on the agenda.
Just two years after it was replaced, there is an appetite to bring back the traditional method of deciding who plays in the competition.
More recently, the grading system implemented by IMG has determined who will feature in the competition.
At the same time, this year, an independent panel selected two additional clubs to participate in an expanded, 14-team division.
Gradings are polarising by design, as clubs are selected on wide-ranging criteria beyond performances on the field.
